pilot and assess a standardized training package (set of simulation exercises), focused on
operational team training for EMCs/EMTs, adapable to different types of EMCs/EMTs

This module aims to enable participants to understand the points that need to be considered in a successful team formation and the stages that the team gets through during the process.

Learning Objectives

On completion of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the points to be considered in the selection of a successful team’s members.

    • List the considerations when determining a team’s size
    • Define which personal and cognitive characteristics should be taken into consideration in the selection of team members
  2. Describe the stages of a team’s development

    • Compare Tuckman's and Wheelman's team development models
    • Report the stage of a team according to the Tuckman or Wheelman team formation model.
  3. Compare the leadership-centered approach with the distributed leadership in the teams.

    • Identify the types of distributed leadership.
    • Analyze the leadership style of a team.
